News from Brazil

My husband is down in Brazil right now.  He called me yesterday to report that he had gone into a whole bunch of “street food” type places and all the food for sale was labeled with “con gluten” or “sin gluten”.  Wouldn’t that be nice:)  More news and maybe pics from Brazil as they flow in.

GF stuff on the road

I always seem to find so much GF stuff when I’m on the road.  I think that it is just because when I am home, I make it myself.  But when I travel, I’m always scrambling to find something.  My two prize finds this extensive road trip were found in the actual Gluten-free section of the Weis Market up in State College, PA.

I found:

#1:  The elusive GF Bisquick.  I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m expecting it to be fairly good.  The one thing I am not expecting from it is that I don’t think it’s going to taste anything like the actual Bisquick.

#2:  Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars.  Almond is good, peanut is ok.  They saved me on the airplane.

So I’ve been on vacation

I went on vacation a few weeks ago and I’m still there.  I have a family reunion and 1 more state to go on our annual two week East Coast marathon.  I am currently in the Shan-gri-la known as State College, PA on my brother-in-laws farmette.  Rows of corn, a prolific garden, cool weather, swimming pool, nightly campfires-it’s always difficult to leave here.  So before I choke up, I’ll just offer a few fun photos of my trip:) Enjoy, because I certainly have.

These are the famous Frank tomatoes that my father-in-law grows. The acorn is just for a size reference. They are amazing:)
