I'm speechless! I was looking at gluten free sites... and low and behold. MY COLLEGE ROOM MATE! Hey!! WoW is all I can say. Looks like you are doing great! Congrats on the new baby! Congrats on the business, and the web-site.

What's craziest, is I've had my daughter on a gluten free diet for 3 years. She's Autistic, and it really does help. I really didn't want to be "one of those Moms" but you can't poopoo it when you see a dramatic difference.

Anyway, I can't believe I found you like this. Small world.

I was at the Whole Foods Market today (April 29, 2012) and discovered the Farmers Market close by outside. What a find that was! I stopped by your booth and sampled some of the worlds best banana bread I've ever eaten (and I'm really no fan at all of bananas or banana bread). You've gotten 49 stars from me for this recipe. I've been gluten free since September 2011 (due to Rheumatoid Arthritis) and the thing I find most perplexing is making a decent tasting bread. I've made maybe 12 or more different types using different GF blog recipes and never ever like any of them. Have you had any success? I'm not terribly hooked on bread but it would be nice to have a sandwich once in a while or if I wanted a hamburger to actually have one with a hamburger bun. Thinking of trying the brioche bread to see where that one goes with taste and texture.
Thanks so much for all you do. Will you be teaching another GF baking class this year?
I live in Kerrville and would definitely drive to learn more about GF

February, 2012

Marissa, I want to thank you for reaffirming my confidence in baking GF again after visiting your display today at the Quarry Farmers Market. I've tried different online recipes and feel like some flour formulas end up hurting my digestion worse that wheat flour ever did. I have seen your GF formula and feel this may work so much better for me.

Do you have a Bread machine recipe that will hold together and not BLOW UP in the machine? I too have a milk allergy but not so much wheat. However I feel better if I don't eat wheat at all. If you can help, it would be much appreciated!!!

PS loved your Raspberry Oatmeal Bar .... I ate it all before I got home. :)

Thank you, Diana

After staring at this recipe for at least 6 months I finally got the courage to make them yesterday. They are wonderful. I've been gf since August 2010 and used to get these tasty little gems every week and devour them. I still let my kids get them now and again but I have missed them. I did use Earth Balance sticks for the butter and So Delicious original coconut creamer for the heavy cream. They are so good. My kids said they taste exactly like the coffee house ones. Thank you for posting. They were worth messing up the kitchen for.

I tried your vegetarian pot pie last week and just loved it. I'm coming back tomorrow to get more, including the chicken pot pie to try. I love your berry bar, to, and your sugar cookies (we bought the halloween packet) were the best I have ever had in my life. I will see you every sunday, now! I'm bringing my daughter-in-law and grandsons tomorrow!

These look wonderful - can't wait to try them. Just want to double-check something: The scones call for 2 vanilla beans or 2 TABLEspoons of the paste; the glaze calls for 1 bean or 1 TEAspoon of the paste. Is the usual substitution a tablespoon or a teaspoon of the paste, or does it depend on the recipe? Many thanks.

P.S. I'm also via Andrew Sullivan - never thought I'd be finding recipes through his site!

Recipe looks great!

And as someone with less cooking skill than you have, I love the way you've laid out the recipe, step by simple step, with lots of pictures along the way.
